Our pans are hand forged right here in our shop at Homestead Heritage Craft Village located in Waco, Tx. Questions we get about our pans
Q. Is carbon steel cast iron?
A. No, cast iron is poured molten into a sand mold. Carbon steel pans are forged from a flat sheet and the handle is forged separately and joined with hammered rivets.
Q.Is carbon steel non-stick?
A. Yes, even better than cast iron.
Q. Are Carbon steel pans seasoned?
A. Carbon steel pans must be seasoned before use. Our pans have been pre-seasoned and are ready for use as quickly as you can get them into your kitchen!
Our favorite oil for seasoning is pecan oil, with its high smoke point-470 deg. f (second only to avocado oil) it will not smoke your kitchen out if you need to re-season it; And of course it is Texan, like us!
